III conference on energy partnerships in the Baltic Sea Region

in BDF Events, News

For the third time, we will set an agenda for the discussions on energy cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region with involvement of the Russian partners. The conference – 1-2 November – will welcome views by the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Kaliningrad Government and the North-West Russia, regional and municipal authorities, organizations and companies from the Kaliningrad region and neighboring countries.

Kaliningrad plays a special role in the energy context, which has been the focus of international energy conferences in 2009 and 2010. The 2012 conference “Energy Partnership in the Baltic Sea Region – New Challenges and Prospects for Cooperation” aims at making new headway in the dialogue between the EU member states and the Russian Federation on a regional level in the field of climate change, energy and environmental planning. The conference will exchange views on development strategies and priorities. Kaliningrad region could become a testing ground for EU-Russia cooperation on climate and energy planning, energy efficiency, development of SMART systems and management of energy service market. What is the financing part of all these new developments? Does Russia have the same expectations as its neighbors in the region?

Organisers of the conference – Nordic Council of Minister’s Information Office in Kaliningrad, Baltic Development Forum, National Council of Energy-saving (Russia) and Baltic Sea Region Energy Cooperation (BASREC) – welcome you to a two-day event with great networking possibilities.
