![]() BDF Report on Regional Energy Cooperation13 May 2008 BDF has commited itself to conduct a substantial report on regional energy cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region. The aim is to look at the challenges and opportunities of the Region's energy market and define the added value of regional cooperation. The preliminary results will be presented at the BDF Summit in Copenhagen-Malmö.
Report on Regional Energy Cooperation in the Baltic Sea RegionAt the BDF Summit in Tallinn in November 2007 it was concluded that the BDF should engage public and private strategic partners in developing regional aspects on innovative energy solutions fighting climate change. The initiative should among other things create input to the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen in 2009. More specifically it was suggested that BDF as part of a regional strategy for the Baltic Sea Region should draw up an analysis on the elements necessary to improve regional energy co-operation. The preparation of such a report has now started and the ambition is to form the basis for a concrete plan of action, which could be part of the EU Baltic Sea Strategy in June 2009. The results could contribute to the efforts to make the Baltic Sea Region a showcase for sustainable energy development at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009. The Report on Regional Energy Cooperation is conducted by Ea Energy Analyses and co-financed by Danfoss. For further information on the report please contact Project Manager Kinga Valeria Szabo ks@bdforum.org.
