Baltic Development Forum and Stockholm City have had strong and fruitful cooperation in the past years. Stockholm City has been an active member in Baltic Development Forum and in 2005 hosted the annual Baltic Development Forum Summit in Stockholm together with the Swedish Government. The purpose of the meeting between Uffe Ellemann-Jensen and Kristina Axén Olin was to discuss the future role of Stockholm City as part of the Baltic Sea Region and the Baltic Metropoles Network (BaltMet). The meeting included discussions about how the metropolises can play an active role in branding the Baltic Sea Region and attracting more tourists, talents as well as investments to the Region.
