15 December 2007Konrad Adenauer Stiftung arranged an informal meeting on the topic Baltic Sea Strategy, at Timmendorfer Strand, Germany, 7-8 December 2007.
Some key actors from the Baltic Sea Region gathered for an informal exchange of views on future strategies for the Baltic Sea Region at Timmendorfer Strand 7-8 December 2007. Representatives from governments, regional organizations, national parliaments, and researchers expressed their general support for a future EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Furthermore, the need for a regional contribution to such a process was underlined by all the participants. An active involement by Germany and Poland was regarded as a key components to a successful outcome of a Baltic Sea Strategy. Baltic Development Forum expressed their readiness to contribute to such a process, and noted that the annual State of the Region Report provides data and analyses on the business perspectives in the Region.
