The conference "Trends Strategies and Branding in the Baltic Sea Region" discussed the perception of the Baltic Sea Region as a tourism destination and the challenges islands face. Sessions aimed at finding answers on how the islands can develop markets and what trends there are in tourism. BDF gave insights of the Branding process of the Baltic Sea Region and encouraged the islands to get on board. Read more about the event.
B7 Conference on Branding

More than 50 representatives were present at the B7 conference held in the beautiful Art Museum of Bornholm. BDF has presented its Branding project which is increasingly an inclusive process welcoming different stakeholder groups. The islands were very positive about linking to the overall branding project coordinated by BDF.
The B7 islands have had strong cooperation on a number of different areas in the past, recently on energy issues. The members of the B7 network have realised that a successful branding of the islands should be put into a bigger, Baltic Sea regional context. This fits very well with the sector-specific branding approach BDF has introduced and were given support at the branding seminar in Timmendorfer Strand on 21-23 May.
BDF would like to see more dedicated stakeholder groups with active participation in the branding of the Baltic Sea Region, be it islands, tourism bodies, companies and so. The islands are looking into possibilities of EU funding to their branding project.
