The event, held under the title ”Growing together – for a prosperous, inclusive and connected region”, has come to a successful close. Over 1400 participants from throughout the Baltic Sea Region gathered in Turku June 3-4, making it the biggest Baltic Sea Region event thus far.
Throughout 6 plenary sessions, 17 seminars and a lively networking village the conference spurred dialogue and charted roads ahead for a wide range of topics – from the political and economic status of the region, to action on sustainability and blue growth, the digital economy, culture, gender, the role of cities and regions – and the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR). Thank you for contributing to these discussions.
You can find all presentations from the conference along with video interviews and reports for download on the website, www.bsr2014.eu.
As the organisers of the 16th Baltic Development Forum Summit and the 5th Annual Forum of the EUSBSR we hope to see you again at future events and to continue to work together for a successful Baltic Sea Region.

Evaluation
The overall responses regarding the Summit/Forum were positive – making it a great success. The main reason for participation was networking, followed by the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The most popular session this year was the Opening Plenary with the introduction of the State of the Region Report. Most respondents were pleased with the programme and viewed the service of the organisers of the Summit/Forum very positively. Some wanted more focus on solutions than on problems/challenges. More interaction and dialogue during sessions was called for as well as more female speakers. For a more detailed view, please see the results here.
