“This event will highlight not only the fixed link but also the business opportunities in this upcoming region. BDF actively supports and participates in Fehmarnbelt Days, utilizing our broad network among politicians and business leaders in the region”. Hans Skov Christensen, Chairman of Baltic Development Forum
BDF is co-organizer of the Fehmarnbelt Days, a series of high-level events with focus on regional cooperation, connectivity, business development and integration. These topics were also raised and discussed at the BDF Summit / EU Annual Forum in Copenhagen in June 2012.
The opening of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link in 2021, together with its rail and road networks on the Danish and German sides, will create new opportunities for growth, mobility and collaboration. The emerging Fehmarnbelt Region will stretch from Northern Germany over Denmark to Southern Sweden, with implications for the entire Baltic Sea Region.
Several public and private stakeholders from the region have initiated the Fehmarnbelt Days to highlight these opportunities. The Fehmarnbelt Days are aimed at those influential in politics, business, sustainability, science and culture in the three countries and their neighbours. Furthermore, all citizens from the region are welcome to participate.
The Fehmarnbelt Days takes place 26 – 28 Sept 2012 in Hamburg and Lübeck, jointly organized by:
- Baltic Development Forum
- Fehmarnbelt Business Council (FBBC)
- Fehmarnbelt Committee
- Femern A/S
- Femern Belt Development
- IHK zu Lübeck
- STRING
