Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce Representation in Øresund Region
On September 1st, the Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce (SPCC) opens an office in the Øresund region. The office is located to Malmö, Sweden, and is headed by Lars E Svensson who has many years of hands-on experience of Poland as business market for foreign companies.
To highlight the opening of the office SPCC organized the seminar “Doing Business in Poland – How to be Successful” at Börshuset in Malmö on 23 August 2010. Baltic Development Forum was a partner to the event, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Southern Sweden.
BDF Chairman Uffe Ellemann-Jensen held an introductory speech on the role of Poland in regional cooperation.
Arguments in favour of the Polish market
Business connections across the Baltic Sea are thriving. Poland performed reasonably well during the global economic crisis and the outlook for its economy compare favourably with other countries in the Baltic Sea Region. Positive real GDP growth, moderate inflation, and a shrinking current account deficit distinguish Poland from other countries in the Region. Despite many imperfections, Poland can rely on a relatively sophisticated business environment. The Seminar offered the participants an excellent opportunity to acquire updated information on the Polish market and learn from other Swedish and Danish companies experiences from doing business there.
